Emily lives with her father on Prince Edward Island, Canada. She makes friends with the trees and animals in the forest, and enjoys her life in nature with her "wind lady" and "fairy" whom she can only see. Suddenly, however, she loses her beloved father. Emily is taken in by her strict Aunt Elizabeth and begins a new life on the New Moon farm. She meets her best friends, Ilse, Teddy, and Perry, who are her best friends without equal, and they cause all kinds of commotion in the village and at school. She is free-thinking and assertive, and clashes at every turn with her aunt, who values traditional values. Emily writes letters to her late father about the loneliness and anxiety she feels in her new life. Her love of writing leads her to aspire to become a novelist. Contains episodes 11 to 14.
