2003年7月26日より全国松竹・東急系にてロードショー公開された話題作が早くもDVDで登場!! 特典ディスク付きのDVD2枚組+オリジナルTシャツ同梱!! 映像化不可能といわれた鬼才・黒田硫黄の傑作「茄子」の1エピソードを、「千と千尋の神隠し」等の作画監督としてスタジオ・ジブリ作品の"絵"を支えた高坂希太郎が監督。音楽は、世界的なサックス奏者で、「マルサの女」など伊丹十三監督作品でお馴染みの本多俊之。激しく過酷なレースシーンに呼応するかのように響き、また切ないメロディが感情を揺さぶる。さらに主題歌は、自らも自転車ファンとしても知られる忌野清志郎が担当。往年の名曲「自動車ショー歌」を自転車用にリメイクした「自転車ショー歌」でエンディングを盛り上げている。特典ディスクには、本編とリンクして高坂氏の絵コンテを全編収録(47分)、また新作アニメーション絵解きミュージック・クリップ「自転車ショー歌なんでショーか?」(歌: 忌野清志郎 約3分)、高坂希太郎監督インタビュー、アフレコ風景や舞台挨拶など秘蔵映像、完成披露試写&カンヌ出陣式舞台挨拶、美術設定画集、CMスポット集を収録。特典ディスクの音声はDolby Digital5.1chとDTS5.1ch。
