During the height of the supercar boom in the 1970s, Toei produced this racing anime, and a total of 17 episodes aired on the TV Asahi network from October 1977 to February 1978, and it is released on DVD as the 50th anniversary of the start of broadcasting approaches. In addition, the main story portion is released as a home video format for the first time. It tells the story of driver Shunsuke Hayami, who is fired after crashing his machine during the Japan Grand Prix, aiming for the world with the high-performance machine "Ruben Kaiser" designed by his late father Georg Kaiser. The character concept is handled by manga artist Mitsuru Sugaya, known for the manga "Game Center Arashi". Yuji Nunokawa, who worked on direction for popular anime such as "Inakappe Taisho" and "Time Bokan", serves as chief director, and Kazuyoshi Hoshino, an active driver at the time, participates as a supervisor, and the work is produced with a focus on being a serious racing anime and finally appears on a DVD that includes all episodes.
