Manga artist Oreco Tachibana, popular for attractive art and couples, wrote "Firefly Wedding" following "Promise Cinderella" and "#Batsuichi Arasa Joshi to Danshi Koko-sei". Set in the Meiji era as civilization and enlightenment advance, it is a forbidden love story woven by Kirigaya Satoko, a young lady who dreams of marrying into a prominent family and becoming her father's pride, and Goto Shinpei, a hitman who dotes on her. Production is by David Production, known for the "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" series and "Cells at Work!". The director is Takahiro Kamei (who directed episodes of "Urusei Yatsura" and "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind"), series composition and screenplay are by Yuko Kakihara ("The Apothecary Diaries" and "Urusei Yatsura"), and character design is by Yukiko Aikei ("Your Lie in April" and "Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop"). An era in which women were regarded as the property of their families. Born into a prominent family and blessed with beauty, Kirigaya Satoko is the daughter of a count's household, yet she is said to have only a short time left to live. Her dream is to marry into a prominent family and become her father's pride. But one night, she is abducted through someone's scheme. To Goto Shinpei, a hitman who happens to be present at the critical moment, Satoko tells a spur-of-the-moment lie: "Let's get married. Be with me, and you will have everything". Shinpei, who madly loves Satoko as his "destined partner", and Satoko, torn between her own mission and her feelings for Shinpei: this is a single-minded yet forbidden form of love. Includes Episodes 1 to 6. [Bonuses] Jacket illustration newly drawn by character designer Yukiko Aikei, special booklet, manga newly drawn by original author Oreco Tachibana, embroidered can badge, and bonus footage (non-credit opening, non-credit ending, next episode preview, and CM and PV collection).
