Description

[Machine Translation] The famous bassist who has played with Chet, Malle, and others has demonstrated his ability as a trombonist. Born in Switzerland in 1939, bassist Izra Eckinger began playing the cello at the age of 8 and the trombone at 17, switching to double bass at 21. As a bassist, he has played with Ben Webster, Mal Waldron, Chet Baker, and many other jazz giants. But on this album, to my surprise, he fully displays his skills as a trombonist. He swings with a Slide Hampton-like technique, not as an afterthought of a bassist. Eckinger's musical talent is reflected in his playing, which is as good as any trombonist's, and not just in one place. Saxophonist Manning's hard-hitting playing is also a major highlight.

Description in Japanese
