Shun Ishiwaka, a percussionist who continues to be remarkably active across a wide range of scenes that transcend genre. From performing with major overseas jazz musicians, to support work for many artists such as Quruli and Ringo Sheena, to his own projects Answer to Remember, SMTK and CRCK / LCKS and his activities in the Ozora Kimishima ensemble formation, and in recent years successfully holding concerts at halls around the country, his momentum knows no bounds. This is the 7th work in the "Songbook" series, the project that can be called his lifework, released under a joint name with Manami Kakudo, who has worked together with him in this same series! What covers the entire album is Kakudo's delicate singing voice and the serene resonance of the piano that Ishiwaka plays. In a space where unnecessary sounds are thoroughly eliminated, even the reverberation of the piano, the sound of the pedal being pressed, and the faintest breathing all breathe as part of the music. There is an overwhelming intimacy, as if you have wandered into their private studio and are listening to the performance right in front of you. And an extremely beautiful collection of works has been born, in which a "poetic world" where words and sounds melt together spreads out. In addition to the core duo's singing and piano, trumpeter Niran Dasika and guitarist Shuta Nishida participate as guests. The recording, mixing and mastering were once again handled by Akihito Yoshikawa of Studio Dede, who has worked on the previous works in the series as well, supporting its acoustic beauty.
