xx (Deluxe)

To commemorate their appearance at Fuji Rock '26, a Japan-exclusive deluxe edition CD of The xx's legendary debut album "xx," with five special tracks added, is now available. Released in 2009, "xx" is a landmark debut album that redefined indie pop with its extremely stripped-down minimalist sound and melancholic, intimate melodies. It dominated year-end best album lists around the world and won the Mercury Prize, one of the UK's most prestigious music awards. It also achieved exceptional success for a new artist, going platinum in the UK and gold in the US. This deluxe edition contains the same contents as the limited LP that was released exclusively through the band's official website in 2025 alongside the announcement of their return, attracting considerable attention. While presenting the quiet, timeless appeal of the debut album "xx" anew from today's perspective, the release also brings the band's origins and subsequent path into focus. The additional tracks include covers of classics such as Womack & Womack's "Teardrops," Kyla's "Do You Mind?," and Aaliyah's "Hot Like Fire," as well as the original tracks "Blood Red Moon" and "Insects." The package also features a wide-spine jacket with a die-cut of the iconic "X," making it an appealing collector's item. The xx commented on this release: "Looking back at 2009 brings back so many memories. It feels like another world. This album is important to us, and we hope it is still important to you too. Thank you for being with us all this time." Includes liner notes and lyrics with Japanese translations.
