Not what you'd expect from Progressive rock giant / golden child Steven Wilson (from the legendary Porcupine Tree)and Progressive metal hero Mikael Akerfeldt (from the equally legendary Opeth), but that's the point. What we get here are sprawling, ambient, meloncholy pieces of music. Late night mood music listening. In places it reminds me of Jon Anderson's progtastic 'Olias of Sunhillow'...but then again it doesn't. Odd to pigeonhole. Not that exciting,but an excellent album. Well worth buying...just wish there was a power chord somewhere!!

現代プログレッシヴ・ロック・シーンにおいて、もっとも革新的なサウンドを生み出し、世界中に多くのファンを持つ二つのバンド、オーペスとポーキュパイン・ツリー。その中心人物～ミカエル・オーカーフェルト&スティーヴン・ウィルソン～が、今ここに融合し、新たなるプロジェクトを始動! 90年代後半から交流を深めていた二人は、オーペスの出世作とも言える『ブラック・ウォーター・パーク』のプロデュースをスティーヴンが務めるなど、何度となく一緒に作業をしてきた仲。以前から何か一緒にプロジェクトをやろう、という話が上がっていたのだが、2012年、ついにその夢の競演が実現、ストーム・コロージョンとしてアルバムを発売することが決定した。レコーディングはイギリスにあるスティーヴン・ウィルソン所有のスタジオ、二人でじっくりアイデアを練りながら生まれたのは、魅惑に満ちた、荘厳で、アンビエントでありながら、壮大なサウンドスケープを感じさせる作品。アルバム収録曲の半分は10分を超える大作になる、という情報も入ってきており、それぞれのバンドのファンにはたまらない作風になる事は間違いないだろう。解説・歌詞・対訳付き。
