with peace frog, ship of fools, waiting for the sun, roadhouse blues and indian summer this 1969 classic has never sounded better and the cardboard lp replication as per the original japan lp is perfect, by this time in the late 60s the doors where one of the worlds biggest rock bands but by 1969 from what i heard morrisson was no longer a good front man due to his excessive drinking and termoil was begining inside the doors camp, still this record is a must!!!!

This is an interesting release , I love it. The tracks are very close to the original album , but are slightly different. They sound like stripped down takes of the final production. Kinda like jamming live in the studio with the band, but like i said these takes are very close to the originals just little differences here and there. Listening to this great album you realize just how great a band The Doors really were , they were tight! Excellent sounding too , the mastering on this album is perfect, it's low and quiet, very clear and warm! Excellent reproduction on the Mini LP complete with original inner sleeve. I only listened to a little bit of the bonus outtakes (I'll go back and listen to them later) , but from what i heard i love it. I feel like i'm in the studio with the band and the Lizard King. I was a little skeptical buying this at first , since i was looking for a SHM-CD release of this album , but i'm so glad i went ahead and picked it up , i don't miss the SHM mastering at all, it sounds that good... I love this release , i definitly recommend picking this one up....this album is one of the greatest ever to come out of the '60's and a masterpiece of work from The Doors!!
