Imafuji Masataro Sakuhin Shu Yori "Hotaru"

[Machine Translation] A message of peace produced by Masataro Imato, a living national treasure. This groundbreaking video work combines poetic illustrations with a stage performance. This video work is based on the original Japanese music piece "Hotaru" by Masako Takeda (lyrics), a master of historical novels, and Masataro Imafuji (music), a living national treasure of nagauta (traditional Japanese ballad), with newly written illustrations by Yoko Kondo, a famous manga artist and the author of the much talked about comic version "The Book of the Dead". The stage performance is a live performance of "The 5th Masataro Imato Concert" (National Theatre, Tokyo) in December 2020. You can choose between Japanese lyrics subtitled version and English lyrics subtitled version. --The soul of a young man who became a warrior and fell in the ravages of war becomes a ray of light and tells of his overflowing love for his beloved child in this story from the Manyo period. Fireflies, fireflies, fireflies on the water's edge...the lingering melodies of warabe-uta sing a sad yet beautiful lyric. This piece, "Hotaru (Firefly)," appeals to the foolishness of "war" and the sorrow of many people with the melody of Japanese traditional instruments that deeply permeates the heart. Hotaru" lyrics by Masako Takeda, music by Masataro Imafuji, arr. by Tosha Rosen, performed by Masaki Imafuji, Masako Imafuji, Choichiro Imafuji, Mijiro Imafuji, Nagatatsuro Imafuji, Mijiro Kiyomoto, Toru Fukuhara and others
