Description

This is a film adaptation of Takehiko Fukunaga's novel of the same title, which is based on "Konjaku Monogatari (Tales of Ancient and Modern Japan)" and depicts the view of impermanence. This dynastic romance depicts the passionate love and tragedy of a young man (Sakagami Shinobu) who meets a female yin-yang master (Iwashita Shima) and is destined to a strange fate. This is the directorial debut of Yukiko Takayama, who has written screenplays for Tetsutaro Murano's films such as "Kunitomogatari", "Gassan", and "Tono Monogatari". Music is by Togi Hideki, a gagaku (court music) performer who belongs to the Imperial Household Agency's ceremonial music department.
