日本テレビの伝統番組が放送30回記念で初DVD化!! 1983年に始まって以来、これまで30回と大会を重ねてきた「高校生クイズ」。全国の高校生が力をあわせてクイズに答え、地区大会を勝ち抜き、全国大会へ挑む。その姿は、まさに"一問に笑い、一問に泣く"! 高校Q児たちは、ひと夏の青春をクイズにかける! 今回の第30回大会は、6～8月に開催された地区大会は「夏の甲子園」同様、47都道府県からそれぞれの代表校を選出。地区大会は全国18会場で開催! 山梨、長野、富山、石川、福井に関しては今回新たな地元開催地となった。これら地区大会とインターネット特別大会からの代表校が勢揃いして、8月中旬より全国大会を開催。決勝までクイズバトルを行い日本一を決定。全国大会の模様は、9月3日に日本テレビ系にて3時間スペシャル番組として放送。DVDには、9/3放送の全国大会の模様を収録。並びに地区大会18会場での模様もダイジェストにて収録。
