      NOT A GOOD MAHLER CYCLE Pre-Release Comment

      WHAT MAKES EVERY NONDISCRIPT CONDUCTORs THINK THEY CAN CONDUCT MAHLER ? I HAVE EVERY GOOD MAHLER RECORDING THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM Andris Nelson did a Shostakovitch cycle on DG and I was silly enough loving Shostakovich to buy it. I listened and was slightly disappointed.............then I heard Kodrashin's complete cycle and suddenly discover just how Shostakovitch should sound.............so I gave away Mr Nelsons's cycle away to a friend as it simply irritated me to hear it after I discovered how Shostakovitch should be played I took only minutes upon hearing Mr Nelsons underwhelming attempt at Maher to realise that this is as great a failure as his Shostakovitch cycle. Save you money and listen to Solti Bernstein or Giellin cycles and be rewarded !
