MAHLRT: SYMPHONIES NOS. 4. 5 & 6 [SHM-SACD] [Limited Release]

Features SHM-SACD format. A series of Rafael Kubelik's Mahler recordings for Deutsche Grammophon, launched to mark the 30th anniversary of Kubelik's passing in August 2026. This second volume includes Symphonies No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 "Tragic" from the complete Mahler symphony cycle Kubelik completed with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. The complete cycle was recorded in Munich between 1967 and 1971 and is known as the first Mahler symphony cycle recorded by a German orchestra. Symphony No. 4, featuring soprano Elsie Morison, was recorded in 1968; No. 5 was recorded in 1971; and No. 6 "Tragic" was recorded in 1968. This second release in the series brings together three works at the core of the Mahler performances Kubelik undertook with his own Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra from the 1960s into the early 1970s. Single-layer, green-colored label coating. Lyrics and Japanese translations are not included. Uses a DSD master created in 2026 by Emil Berliner Studios in Germany from the original master.
