Description

[Machine Translation] [Jazz the Best] JTB's popular 1,100 yen JTB series now includes 100 new titles selected from Verve, Impulse, ECM, Emercy, Decca, and A&M labels, all of which are treasure troves of jazz masterpieces. The white tenor virtuoso Sims left his one-horn quartet on the Argo label. Sims, known as one of the best white modern tenors along with Stan Getz, plays in a bluesy style that is typical of Argo's work. The way he swings around the standard tunes shows more passion than usual. Selected by Swing Journal ( Gold Disc ) Recorded in New York, October 12, 1956 [Personnel] Zoot Sims ( ts, as ) / John Williams ( p ) / Nobby Totter ( b ) / Gus Johnzon ( ds )
