Bohm's performance of "Ring" at the Bayreuth Festival in 1966 and 1967 with the best Wagner singers of the 20th century, including Windgassen and Nilsson, is considered a historic masterpiece that marks the best or the end of the so-called postwar New Bayreuth style. This disc is a sequential compilation of the highlights of this lengthy work, which allows the listener to understand the flow of the story as well as the wonderful music. In other words, this is an ideal album for beginners as it concentrates the essence of "Ring".
