Description
[Machine Translation] Karajan recorded Haydn's "The Creation" with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra from 1966 to 1968, which was initiated to take advantage of the schedule of soloists Janowitz, Ludwig, Wunderlich, Berry, and others who had come to Berlin to record Beethoven's "Missa solemnis" in February 1966. ハイドン: オラトリオ「天地創造」 / ヘルベルト・フォン・カラヤン(指揮)/ウィーン楽友協会合唱団/ウィーン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団
カラヤンはこのハイドンの「天地創造」をベルリン・フィルと1966年から1968年にかけて録音しているが、この録音は、1966年2月にベートーヴェンの「ミサ・ソレムニス」録音時に、ベルリンに来ていたヤノヴィッツ、ルートヴィヒ、ヴンダーリヒ、ベリーといったソリスト達と、ウィーン楽友協会合唱団のスケジュールを生かす為に始められた。その後数回に分けて録音がされる予定だったが、1966年9月にヴンダーリヒが事故で亡くなった為に、テノールの半分がヴェルナー・クレンによって歌われ、リリースされた。この録音は素晴らしいものだったが、一部のコレクターたちは満足せず、今回発売になる、ORFで放送された1965年の録音テープが出回っていた。そのコレクターも認める名演が遂に正規発売!!
