Description

[Machine Translation] Garth Knox was a viola player in the Arditti String Quartet and also participated in the contemporary music group Ensemble Intercontemporain led by Boulez. This album is a rare solo album on the viola d'amore, a stringed instrument active in the early 18th century, some of which are performed in duet with the cello. 17th century works are coupled with folk and contemporary pieces, including some of Knox's own compositions. Recorded at St. Gerold Abbey, Austria, September 2006. Commemorative disc for his visit to Japan.
