Description

[Machine Translation] [The Art of Claudio Arrau] Claudio Arrau (1903-1991) was a Chilean pianist active mainly in the United States. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of his death, the "The Art of Claudio Arrau" series, which was released in 2011, is now available as an encore pressing. Claudio Aarau was a master who passed down the mainstream of traditional German piano playing techniques from Beethoven to Czerny to Liszt. The three pieces included here are from his complete recordings in the 1960s. All are richly dignified performances, and the exuberant performance of "Waldstein," to which Arrau is particularly attached, is especially moving. This is a Japan-only project. Recordings: September 1963 (1), September 1965 (2), November 1965 (3), Concertgebouw, Amsterdam
