Description

[東宝DVD名作セレクション] うら若き母は何故にその決断をしたのか。――銀幕をゆする母を呼ぶ声。――須貝 (菅井一郎) の会社は不景気で倒産してしまった。一人息子の修吾は楽しみにしていた林間学校に行けなくなってしまうのではと不安だ。就職先が見つからない須貝は、ガラス磨きの飛び込みセールスを始める。妻の貞代 (入江たか子) は内職に励むのだった。しかし無理がたたったのか、遂に貞代は帰らぬ人となってしまう。須貝は貞代の亡骸に男手一つで修吾を育て上げると誓う・・・ 不治の病に倒れた母の強い愛と、息子のために生きる父の愛。そして両親の気持ちに応える息子の愛を描く人間ドラマ。
