Description
[Machine Translation] [Toho DVD Masterpiece Selection] A lineup of five masterpieces by Hideko Takamine, one of the most famous actresses in Japanese cinema, in the Toho DVD Masterpiece Selection. --The endless longing of the one you love. The fire of passion that endures for the sake of the one you love. A shopping arcade has lost its former liveliness with the arrival of supermarkets. The protagonist, who has been running the liquor store where she married her husband, confesses her feelings to her brother-in-law, loses her place in the world, and eventually leaves home. Director Mikio Naruse uses restrained direction to coolly observe the paths taken by a man and a woman rejected by social mores.
