Showa 100 Nen Japanese City Pop Non-Stop Best Mix Vol.2

City pop is a category of Japanese music that was produced and gained popularity in Japan from the late 1970s through the 1980s, characterized by urban and sophisticated melodies and lyrics influenced by Western music. Since the 2010s, it has been reappraised in Europe and the United States via the internet and reintroduced to Japan, becoming a major genre once again. In 2025, marking "Showa 100 Nen", this release features numerous original recordings of classic city pop songs presented in a lively non-stop DJ mix format. The mix is curated by DJ Caesar, who has been familiar with city pop since childhood and is known for works such as the "Weekly Shonen Jump 50th Anniversary BEST ANIME MIX" series and the "Mobile Suit Gundam 40th Anniversary BEST ANIME MIX" series. The mix evokes that era with frequent use of bubbly keywords such as "city", "night view", and "poolside". The jacket artwork is created by contemporary illustrator Tanaka Misaki. An ideal one-disc introduction to city pop.
