Meddle (55th Anniversary San Tropez Orange Marble Vinyl) [Limited Release]

*Non Japan-made disc. A 55th anniversary edition of "Meddle", Pink Floyd's sixth studio album and a masterpiece originally released in 1971. Limited San Tropez Orange Marble Vinyl edition. "Meddle" was released in November 1971, shortly after Pink Floyd's first-ever performances in Japan at Hakone Aphrodite in August of the same year. The album has enjoyed particularly strong popularity in Japan, and its richly lyrical sound continues to resonate deeply with Japanese listeners. Occupying the entire B-side of the LP, the suite "Echoes" is known as one of the greatest songs in Pink Floyd's history. The song was also performed at Hakone Aphrodite, where fog enveloped the venue during the performance and blended with the magnificent natural surroundings, creating a legendary live moment that is still talked about today. Side A features the live staple "One Of These Days", the pastoral "A Pillow Of Winds", the quietly uplifting "Fearless", the light and jazzy "San Tropez", and the humorous "Seamus". Further developing the lyricism and experimental spirit that emerged on the previous album "Atom Heart Mother", this historic masterpiece helped define Pink Floyd's musical direction leading toward "The Dark Side of the Moon". The artwork was created by Hipgnosis. Based on the motif of a human "ear" submerged underwater, the ripples spreading across the surface symbolically express the expansion of sound. / San Tropez Orange Marble Vinyl (180g heavyweight vinyl) / Includes a Japan-exclusive obi, liner notes, lyrics, and Japanese translations.
