The ultimate instrumental entertainment spotlighting traditional drum corps and marching bands originating from the American Civil War. It premiered on December 14, 1999 at the Apollo Theatre in London, one of the world's most prestigious theater venues, achieving overwhelming success with standing ovations night after night. In 2001, it moved to Broadway, winning both the Tony Award (Best Special Theatrical Event) and the Emmy Award (Outstanding Choreography), and subsequently toured across the United States. In Japan, it first performed in the summer of 2003 and has toured Japan three times since, totaling 928 performances and drawing over 1.4 million people. A new Japan tour has been scheduled from July 2026 for the first time in two years. This is the original cast recording of "Blast!". To commemorate this Japan tour, it is being reissued with a 2026 remaster at a new lower price.
