this is a very good compilation japan only blu spec 2 mini lp cd that sounds fantastic!!! all opel was was a compilation of tracks from barrets only 2 solo albums as well as other recordings i reviewed here yesterday and all tracks on this disc where recorded between may 1968 through mid 1970 as after that barret never recorded again, this compilation was originally released back in 1988, the mini lp replication is almost perfect as per the original japan 1988 lp edition of this compilation lp...

[SYD BARRETT PAPERSLEEVE COLLECTION(3)] 未発表曲や2枚のソロ・アルバムからのオルタネイト・テイクなど1968～70年までにレコーディングされていたレア音源を纏めたコンピレーション。彼がシーンから忽然とその姿を消した72年から16年の月日が流れた88年に突如としてリリースされた。タイトル・トラックになった「オペル」を始め「ドリー・ロッカー」「ワード・ソング」「スワン・リー」「バーディー・ホップ」「レッツ・スプリット」「ランキー(パート1)」「銀河」がここで初出。また「タコに捧ぐ詩」の原曲としてソフト・マシーンのメンバーらと録音した「クラウンズ＆ジャグラーズ」や同じく「暗黒の世界」のアーリー・テイクである「僕がいなくてさみしくないの」といった貴重なトラックやデモ音源を収録。数曲を除いて、自身のアコースティック・ギター1本による弾き語りではあるが、それ故に生々しい空気感と彼のピュアな魂が伝わってくる、あまりにも特別なドキュメント作品。 解説・歌詞・対訳付。紙ジャケット仕様。
