Description

[Machine Translation] The young German pianist Martin Stadtfeldt finally takes on the piano concerto by the master of classical music, Beethoven. The first piece chosen is the second concerto. It was written when Beethoven was 25 years old, and although it is numbered No. 2, it is actually the very first piano concerto he ever wrote. Therefore, it is relatively small in scale for Beethoven, with strong influences of Haydn and Mozart, rather than the heroic content of No. 4 and No. 5, but it is still a work that reveals Beethoven's personality in many places. This is the first Beethoven concerto that Stadtfeldt, who has performed Bach and Mozart, has performed, and this is the best choice for him. The Staatskapelle Dresden will be conducted by Sebastian Weigle, whose popularity is on the rise after appearing at the Bayreuth Festival. The coupling is a collection of Beethoven's early solo works. Recordings: 2008, 2009
