The wait was unbearable, but I waited till it was dark outside when I plugged this disc in. It didn't take any longer than the first second to have me in complete trance all the way through till the last second. The only thing I could say was that it was probably their best album yet. After having listened to so many times that I know every single detail in the songs, I can say that it truly is. Why is really not that easy to explain under 2400 letters, but I'll try. SA BIR is the greatest instrumental opening I've heard from any band - period! VINUSHKA is not only a great insight to what the whole album will feel like, it's their most epic song ever! The two delicate singles GLASS SKIN and DOZING GREEN could never have prepared one for the powerful darkness this album holds. INCONVENIENT IDEAL which closes the album is their most emotional song ever. Really, there's no point in talking about every song because they are all perfect! I can't even pick favourites, I just thought I'd say how the album starts, how it is somewhere in the middle and how it closes. The amount of hard work put down in this album is astonishing as DIR EN GREY manage to push themselves in a direction that make them better and better with every album which is something I can't think of any other single band have ever accomplished. The unplugged disc contain 3 tracks once again and they are just as great, if not better than those from the previous album! In particular RED SOIL which also feature completely re-recorded vocals. UROBOROS is so great that I can't possibly imagine how their next album will ever manage to top it, but I've said the same thing in the past with their previous albums as well and they always prove that they know how. They managed to capture the past, present and future of themselves with their darkest album yet.

I'm so dissapointed with their previous album. But here their music is amazing! A great album, a great band!

great album of Dir en grey. I like The band since 2000 and this work is so great and amazing. I like The songs Sa bir, Vinushka, glass skin, dozing green, red soil, toguro and dokoko to sainu!!!!!!

Dir en grey are now at the height of their music career, and always amaze me with each new album that explores and captures new sounds and genres. Uroboros is no exception, if you haven't listened to it already, go and do that now! It mixes the new with the old, the heavy with the soft. A very balanced and beautifully created album, definitely worth buying and listening to :D!

I love this CD with my entire heart! The Dir en grey boys never fail to amaze me. And if you were wondering, they are breathtaking live.

This was one of their best albums ever released! It's one of their darker albums & I love it. This one is definitely up there with Vulgar, Gauze & Marrow of a Bone. XD

It took me a while to make a review... but here goes. UROBOROS is an excellent title for this album. It all stands firmly and unified, in place and ongoing, eternally. All 13 tracks blend into one perfectly even if they each sound different. This album contains the past, present and future of Dir en grey. Their works always continue to amaze me. I expect nothing less from my number one band. I can understand what Kaoru-san meant about seeing different places while listening to each of the songs. SA BIR, for example, makes me imagine a forest, early morning. Ware, Yami Tote makes me think of the sunset. UROBOROS, for me, represents a whole day from dawn to dusk. When you listen to the whole album for the first time, I suggest you sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and see what images will appear. You'll be surprised. :) Also, the songs become better and better after each listen. I am so happy I own this CD. I look forward to what better things Dir en grey hold in store for us toriko.

This band f@#@n rocks! I saw then perform some of these songs live and Kyo is such an emotional performer! I really like this cd, it has a middle eastern/indian feel to it. As evident from the title of some of the songs. Also, they mix hard rock with some down right meloncholic tunes. But any DEG fan would know, that's them. My favorite tracks are 3,6,&11.

This album is a new climax to the carreer of DeG. It forges crazy screamings, catchy passages as well as melodic and highly dramatic songs. Also, the CDs outfit represents it quite well. Sa Bir produces a strange feeling of a ritual which is continued on Vinushka and works in a subtle way even on Dozing Green. With Red Soil the CD gets harder and a small arc is created with Dokoku to Sarino and Toguro with these tracks getting more and more melodious. Glass Skin is the height of this evolution. The second half of the album presents rather hard songs as well as the ballad Ware, yami tote... , an english version of dozing green and the dramatic final song Inconvenient Ideal. The acoustic disc features Red Soil and Ware, yami tote... with only voice and piano and Inconvenient Ideal with pipe organ.

I ordered this on the first day it became available, and then it turns out that I got the "English" version of DOZING GREEN and GLASS SKIN. I prefer the Japanese ones, but for some odd reason the American version has them as bonus tracks...grr other than that it is a wonderful album, the CD design is beautiful, the lyrics are actually READABLE and the music itself is simply Diru at their best!

Simply amazing can't even describe how great this album was. Especially after getting to see them live right after receiving it....yeah. A great purchase. ^^ Dir en Grey for the win.

Now I`m not to keen on the details, but I know the basics the name comes from a Chinese thing where it is a dragon in a circle (I think devouring itself). Well the band has come full circle by borrowing some elements not heard since their earlier albums, combined with the new to from a absolutely beautiful album. Now not as hard as Marrow this album still has all the harsh freak-outs and raging guitar you`ve come to expect, while holding some gorgeous melodies and vocals (even though the engrish is pretty harsh). To a diru fan this is a must have (wish I got the double deluxe) You will not be disapointed.

This is an amazing cd. It sounds so much different than any of their other cds, but that makes it all the more amazing. Uroboros even starts up with an instrumental track. The best songs on the cd are definitely Vinushka, Red Soil, and Dozing Green even though Dozing Green and Glass Skin were changed.

Its perfect, Dir en grey are the best band ever!!! A must buy for any Dir en grey fan even any other Jrock fans! Love Kyo, Shinya, Die, Toshiya, Kaoru!!! <3333

another fantastic album for the awesome visual band that is diru. totally crazy, great!great!great!!!

I kept my expectations for this album high, and I was not disappointed. Right off the bat it showed itself to be unique with it's original sound and concept; I enjoyed Marrow of a Bone, but this overshadows it. Uroboros is an amazingly crafted album by one of Japan's greatest bands.
