More than I expected 5

I had to buy this single because in the cd Marrow of a Bone it was re-mixed and I like the original version more. I love how Kyo sing's in english It's all about the attitude baby and I have more respect for Shinya now. He is such a powerfull drummer in this single. I have never been a big fan of Dir en grey's live material, but It's a good reminder of their lives.

Best Line in All the History of Music 5

This is perhaps my second favorite single by Dir en Grey ( #1 being The Final). The song Cleaver Sleazoid is awsome and the line "One day I will ... your parents!" is hilarious. Kyo isn't great in English as shown in Child Prey already, but it makes the feeling of the song even better. It's always fun listening to the imperfect live recordings of songs also.

Love it or hate it! 5

I've loved this song since the first time I heard it, and after having listend to it 62045 times, it just gets better! When I first got to know "CLEVER SLEAZOID", I had no idea the controversy it had stirred up among fans, and it's very clear that you either love it or hate it. I've made it clear where I stand. One thing I find laughable is when people slam Kyo because his English is "bad". Okay, his pronounciation is not correct at all, but first off, I don't think he wants it to be and second, that's the whole point of it anyway! I think it's boring when singers switch between languages flawlessly. I love to listen to a Dir en grey song and then look at the lyrics and go: "I had no idea that was in English!!!" Anyway, the lyrics are great and it has the best line ever written [Yes, you all know which one I mean!] The additional live tracks are a nice bonus, even though they're not perfect. A really great single!

One of Their Greatest Singles 5

CLEVER SLEAZOID was one of the first songs by Dir en grey that I had ever heard (the other one being OBSCURE), and they showed me that just because Dir en grey is from Japan doesn't mean that they don't know how to make music that other people from different countries can like. CLEVER SLEAZOID is still one of my favorite songs by them, and the video is definitely worth checking out, too. The live tracks are also great and show that Deg can do live shows just as well as they can do music in the studio.

I <3 Clever Sleazoid 5

I immediately fell in love with this song as soon as I heard it. Strong powerful lyrics and a beautiful Japanese line. I was amused reading/hearing the line involving 'harming' someone's parents. Ah, the beauty of the controversy between fans. Like many had said before, you either love it or hate it.

Great Single 5

I have to say, I like the Song Clever Sleazoid really. Ok, I had to listen to it a few times to really like it. It's the hard sound, kyo's voice and the japanese part after the first chorus that rocks!

Cleverish 5

This is yet a recognizable single of Dir en grey. Not only their amazing sound, but also the difference of opinion on this single. You either love or hate it. It's one of Dir en grey's harder sounds, think about Hydra, Byo ' ' Shin, Saku, but then a tad bit harder. The lyrics are in English once again, minus a beautiful Japanese line. The three live versions on it are amazing, vocalist Kyo sings with his soul poured into the music CLEVER SLEAZOID is left with a message and it's here for you to find out what that is.

Clever Sleazoid 3

I love the single itself(it's freaking amazing live as wellXD), but the extra live tracks are a bit harder to bear. While the band itself is spot on, Kyo's voice was worn out at the time of the recording, so they're not the greatest live tracks you can find.

Nice song, not so good live tracks 4

CLEVER SLEAZOID is a very good but confusing song. The guitar riffs are very powerfull and Kyo's singing is very extravagant. The live songs are not so good. I think Kyo's voice was not at its best condition. I was at the concert in Berlin 2005 and there he sounds much better.

not so clever 2

From the lyrics to the deafening...'noises', this single is definetely NOT one of their best. I truly question why anyone would want to wish to 'harm' someone's parents.

My review 4

This is yet another single by Dir en grey that continues to be controversial among the American Japanese music fanbase. While most of the fanbase have called this a trashy, undesireable single, I find it to be a single that tells me their music standpoint as of right now. Judging by the music and judging by the vocals in the song, it has a distinct feel of post-hardcore/metalcore. Now I am not an avid fan of either genre, but I can clearly hear them in this single. The great thing about it, is Dir en grey have taken those genres and given their take on it, and the outcome is very appealing. Unlike most metalcore and hardcore vocalists, Kyo can envoke the pure anger and fury that to me...most 'core' vocalists fail at. Musically, Kaoru's riffing [especially in the chorus], has the distinct feel of the genres, and pulls it off rather nicely. One of his great talents is to take the music he loves, and form it into his liking. Now i'm not going to give it a perfect score, because it's not a perfect song, no song is perfect, but I will tell you this: If you enjoy music to headbang, scream along or whatever...this single is definitely up your alley.

Symphony of pain 4

CLEVER SLEAZOID It's a powerful song. The voice of kyo follows two tonalities, therefore, this song is interesting and intense. I can feel the pain that gives off the letter. The selection of lives songs is excellent.

I love this song! Kyo may be screaming, but he's also singing. I think it's beautiful. The other tracks are also nice. It's fun to hear live tracks, brings back memories.

Clever Sleazoid 3

CLever Sleazoid is a very strange song to me with an equally strange video. The music is very good with its very explicit lyrics. The vocals just didn't do it for me though. Kyo screams much more then he actually sang but when he did sing, he did very well. Id recommed the single to anyone that likes really hard and heavy rock.

Clever indeed 4

When I first heard this single I was suprised by how different I thought it sounded from Dir en grey's other releases. At first I didn't like it all too much but the more and more I listened to Clever Sleazoid the more I began appreciating it. I have grown to love this addicting new single by one of Japan's best rock bands.
