Rie Fu, that's who. 5

Rie Fu has thankfully learnt the English language before attempting to drizzle English words into her lyrics (a bane of 99.9% of J-pop songs that have 'English words' in them). Armed with this, she now can sing effortlessly bewteen Japanese and English with correct pronunciation and grammar and does this so well that you hardly notice the switch. She is probably the only artist I know who can pull this feat off and I am very pleased that she has decided to do this. The results are amazing and the songs are well grounded with meaning instead of a string of utter non-sense (albeit for humour value). Thank you Miss Fu, you have transcended.

A truly amazing talent 5

I purchased this CD after falling in love with 'Life is Like a Boat' as the outro to Bleach. I suspected to get the one song I wanted, and possibly another couple of enjoyable tracks. I could not have been more wrong. Every single song on the album is a masterwork. Rei Fu has an incredible voice, and a great talent with both the piano and guitar. Her lyrics are well written and relaxing. She shifts from Nihon-go(Japanese) to English easily and fluidly. I cannot reccomend this CD enough.

This was a very nice album. I loved the overall relaxed feel that it has, which she tends to pull off quite well, in my opinion. I also like how she makes the transition from Japanese to English (and vice-vers) so nicely. It sounds very natural. The first songs I ever heard by her were Life is like a boat and decay, and hearing the other songs on this album along with those, was quite a nice, relaxing, laid-back treat. I can't wait until her next album release.

Beautiful 5

I bought this CD after having only heard the Bleach ending theme, and I must say, it was definitely worth it! This album just turned out to be one of those rare ones where I listen to every track, without skipping any. Rie Fu's voice is lovely and gentle on the ears, with flawless English. It's amazing how easily she flows back and forth between English and Japanese. There's a nice variety of songs, and I especially love the blend of guitars and piano. What I love is how Rie Fu's music is nice and soft on the ears, but still definitely memorable and catchy. Every song is worth your time listening to; The only one I found boring was "Tsuki no Ue". The album wraps up nicely with the all English song "Decay". Oh yes, and the "Life is Like a Boat" video is also a nice addition. Highly reccomended. You just can't go wrong with buying this CD. =)

Re Fu - Bleach Ending Theme with DVd 5

Really excellent. Her work is so good, I had to buy the complete album, not just the single. And the video is just such a bonus.

Rie Fu 5

If you like Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morisette, then Rie Fu is definitely your cup of tea. The first thing that strikes is that her pronunciation is impeccable. All the r's remains as r's! Rie Fu switches between English and Japanese so fluently and with such ease that one can hardly notice it. There is absolutely NO abrupt transition. I love her faster tracks which are filled with energy, but her slower songs are so easy to listen to and the lyrics so sunny you couldn't help liking it e.g. I So Wanted, Shine and Beautiful Words. Decay is featured in her first single. I only wished that I was introduced to this talented young lady earlier! She ends the album with an Englsih version of Decay. However, the album is anything but the title of the last track! The only thing that will still catch me by surprise is when I look at the CD sleeve. It's hard to attach such a deep and mellow voice to the face.
