Mozart: Klavierkonzerte Nos.23 & 27 [Limited Release]

[Machine Translation] [Kemp Masterpieces 1000] German pianist Wilhelm Kemp ( 1895-1991 ) excelled at classical and romantic repertoire such as Beethoven, Brahms, and Bach. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of his death, the "Kemp Masterpieces 1000" series is being released as an encore pressing. When Kemp played Mozart, soft and pleasant spring sunshine shone through. His Mozart is expressive and romantic, with long, breathy phrases and a slow, lingering finish that sends a breath of fresh air into the listener's heart. This style of performance is rare today amidst the many academic interpretations of Mozart, and even in melancholic pieces, Kemp looks at Mozart with a warm eye without falling into emotional overload. This is a situation that only he could have reached. [Performed by Wilhelm Kemp (piano), Bamberg Symphony Orchestra (K.488), Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra (K.595), Ferdinand Leitner (conductor), recorded in Bamberg in April 1960 and Berlin in January 1962
