Beethoven: "Fruhlings-sonate" "Kreutzer-sonate" [Limited Release]

[Machine Translation] [Kemp Masterpieces 1000] German pianist Wilhelm Kemp ( 1895-1991 ) excelled at classical and romantic repertoire such as Beethoven, Brahms, and Bach. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of his death, the "Kemp Masterpieces 1000" series is being released as an encore pressing. This is a dream combination of Beethoven's complete works, which was planned to commemorate the bicentennial of Beethoven's birth in 1970. Menuhin, who was in his mid-50s at the height of his powers at the time, and Kemp, who was in his late teens, crystallized their mutual passion for Beethoven in this superb recording. Here, the two musicians confronted the music with an exuberance rarely heard, and their performance was truly persuasive. They never lost sight of their own music, never fell into over-expression, and always aimed for natural and unadulterated music, reaching musical heights that ordinary performers could never reach. They are truly an irreplaceable asset of the 20th century. [Performed by Yehudi Menuhin (violin), Wilhelm Kemp (piano) Recorded in London, June 1970
