[ケンプ名盤1000] ベートーヴェンやブラームス、バッハなど、古典派・ロマン派のレパートリーを得意としたドイツのピアニスト、ヴィルヘルム・ケンプ (1895-1991)。没後30年を記念して、「ケンプ名盤1000」シリーズをアンコール・プレス。ケンプのシューベルトを聴いて感じられるのは限りなく紡ぎだされる歌心だろう。そこには、常にメロディを第一として歌う彼の姿勢が表れており、そのピアノからは詩情豊かな響きの世界が展開する。若き日、ケンプは単にピアノ・ソロ作品だけではなく歌曲の伴奏を積極的に行った。後年、彼は自らの回想のなかで、この経験が大変貴重なものであったと述べている。これら一連のシューベルト録音にもそれは十分窺うことが出来る。汲めども尽きないシューベルトの音楽の泉をケンプはあらゆる面から掬い取り、その芳醇な香りを我々に与えてくれる。録音: 1965年3月ハノーファー
