The film, directed by three-time Academy Award-winning cinematographer Vittorio Storaro and supervised by the director of the Rome Museum Center and an art historian, faithfully depicts the life of this extraordinary painter, who was at one time the darling of the times and at another was branded as a rebel, in a moving and moving way.
