Deep Forest is a world/new age music unit consisting of Eric Mouquet and Michel Sanchez (both from France) who have been gaining attention for their creative activities based on the concept of creating global music by fusing world music and electro. In 1995, they won a Grammy for Best World Music Album. Mouquet has worked as a composer and producer for such artists as Chitose Moto, Anna Troja, and Catherine Lara, and has collaborated with Josh Groban on several international hits. Since the late 2000s, Deep Forest has been working on the "Deep Project," a collaboration with musicians from around the world. Deep Brasil" was released in 2010 as the first installment of this project, and this is the second installment. As the title suggests, this is a conceptual work set in Africa.
