[Machine Translation] SEIKO MATSUDA's first jazz album "SEIKO JAZZ" was released in Japan in March, and now it is available on Verve US! Seiko Matsuda, a long-time top star of Japan, finally released her first jazz album "SEIKO JAZZ" in Japan six years after its conception. Produced by Shigeyuki Kawashima, the first Japanese artist to win a Grammy for a jazz work, the album features all arrangements by David Matthews, who has won Grammy Awards and numerous platinum discs, and was recorded by the elite members of the Manhattan Jazz Orchestra. This is a full-fledged jazz album. Danny Bennett, the current head of Verve Records, praised the album highly and decided to release it in the U.S., making him the first Japanese singer to do so under the American label Verve Records. 日本盤が3月にリリースされたSEIKO MATSUDAの初のジャズ・アルバム『SEIKO JAZZ』のVerve US盤が早くも登場! 日本のトップスターとして長きに渡り活躍してきた松田聖子が、構想から6年の時を経てついに国内で先行リリースしたジャズ・アルバム『SEIKO JAZZ』。日本人として初めてジャズ作品でグラミー賞を獲得した川島重行のプロデュースの元、グラミー賞や数々のプラチナ・ディスクを獲得してきたデヴィッド・マシューズが全曲のアレンジを務め、マンハッタン・ジャズ・オーケストラから精鋭メンバーがレコーディングに参加した本格的ジャズ・アルバム。現在Verve Recordsのトップを務めるダニー・ベネット氏が今作を絶賛したことで、アメリカの“Verve Records (ヴァーヴ・レコーズ)”から日本人シンガーとして初の全米リリースが決定。初めてのジャズ録音から100年となる今年、祝ジャズ100年を盛り上げるアイテムとなること必至の作品。
