Ghost in the Shell Anime All History Pia is a fantastic celebration of one of the most influential anime franchises ever created. Covering the history of the anime from Mamoru Oshii’s legendary 1995 film all the way to the new 2026 TV series, this book offers a great opportunity to look back at how the franchise has evolved over more than three decades. One of the things I enjoyed most is the way the book brings together the different eras and productions of Ghost in the Shell. From Ghost in the Shell and Innocence to Stand Alone Complex, ARISE, SAC_2045, and the new series, it is fascinating to see how the characters, designs, themes, and visual style have changed over the years. The production material and interviews are another highlight. They offer some interesting insight into the people behind the franchise and the ideas that continue to shape its world. The sections dedicated to the new 2026 series are particularly interesting, especially for fans who want to learn more about its creators and their relationship with the original manga and previous adaptations. The book is beautifully presented and works equally well as a historical overview, a reference guide, and a collector’s item. After so many years, Ghost in the Shell remains a fascinating and constantly evolving universe, and this publication does an excellent job of showing just how far it has come. A highly recommended book for both longtime fans and newcomers. If you love Ghost in the Shell, this is a wonderful addition to the collection.
