In this work, I attempted to superimpose the modern world of yokai (monsters) based on the famous Edo Ukiyoe yakusha-e masterpiece "Hana-in Yoshiwara no Yoru Ame" (Night Rain in Yoshiwara with Flower Invitation) . By adding fleetingly beautiful cherry blossoms and unseasonal snow to the stylish and song-and-dance appearance of Kitaro's fathers, we created a fantastic and unsettling atmosphere.

The "Hanasagarashi no Yuki" also overlaps the image of "bloody cherry blossoms" that appear in the story, symbolizing the shadow of fate lurking behind the splendor of the scene.
Also, the scene where Mizuki gently holds out an umbrella to Kitaro's father is a scene where I wanted to express quiet kindness and friendship.
