Description

[Machine Translation] Along with "Ethics," this is Watsuji Tetsuro's main work. This is an attempt to describe the development of ethical thought from ancient times to the modern era and the changes in the social structure that supported it, on a grand scale, from religion to literature, and is still unprecedented as a comprehensive history of Japanese thought. Published in 1952, shortly after the end of World War II, this book is itself a living document that illuminates the possibilities and difficulties of modern Japanese thought.
