Yet even during those 10 Years of Silence" that followed, he never stopped creating. Empowered by the freedom he regained by stepping away from fashion, he expanded his artistic expression into drawing, collage, sculpture, video, and installation, quietly preparing for a new chapter. In this article, through an interview conducted on the occasion of his first large-scale solo exhibition in Japan, we explore the philosophy that underpins Margiela s creative process and examine the current state of his creativity as he transitions from designer to artist.
