[Novel] Mononoke (Theatrical Movie): Hinezumi (Kadokawa Bunko)

[Machine Translation] The second official novelization. The second volume of the official novelization of the story, which focuses on the thoughts and feelings of the Oku-no-Maids concerning their parents and their children. Not long after the fierce battle with the monster Karagasa, a medicine peddler reappears at Nanatsukuchi. In the inner chambers of the ladies' chambers, the absence of Utayama, a senior courtesan who had led the ladies' chambers, has triggered a major change. Tokita Fuki, a highly trained courtesan, continues to monopolize the favor of the Lady Tenko, but she finds herself in a difficult position under the strict leadership of Otomo Butane, the new general director. As the rift between the two sides deepens, a certain situation that befalls Fuki causes a further upheaval in the inner palace. The heated battle between the two houses involves the outer politics, and numerous schemes are used to push Huki into a corner. At the same time, a commotion occurs in which people suddenly burst into flames and are extinguished. The medicine peddler, suspecting the work of a mono-no-kai, moves to remedy the situation, but in order to slay the mono-no-kai, he must demonstrate the three elements of form, truth, and reason that the sword of the demons demands. The medicine man ventures further into the darkness that lurks in the inner chambers. The second volume of the official novelization, fully supervised by the director, delves deeper into Fuki's anguish and Buttons' conflict, which could not be fully discussed in the movie.
