BOYS GO TO JUPITER

"This is the strangest movie I have seen this year". "Its laid-back vibe is the best!" The moment it hit theaters, viewers became addicted to its laid-back, strange world! Boy meets girl! Boy meets alien! A bizarre encounter illuminates an unexpected future. Set in Florida as the year draws to a close, this is the story of Billy 5000, a young man who has dropped out of school and spends his days chatting with friends or working a food-delivery job, desperately trying to earn $5,000 to turn his life around. Julian Glander is known for the cult-hit adventure game "ART SQOOL," for illustrations featured in The New York Times, The New Yorker, and other outlets, and for his distinctive, vivid 3D animation. In his feature directorial debut, made independently over four years, he transforms everyday scenery, such as abandoned pools and construction sites, into a magical world, creating a fantastical, cosmic coming-of-age film. It has been officially selected for numerous film festivals in the US, and in Japan, for the New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival. Media around the world have praised it as well, with Mashable calling it "bizarre, cheerful, breezy, and singular... this animation delivers a wonderfully madcap experience" and The New York Times calling it "an unforgettable masterpiece". The director subsequently made fine adjustments to create a new version, leading to its wide theatrical release across the US in 2025. For its Japanese release, the definitive cut, in the form the director wanted most, is being unveiled, and from opening day, viewers have become addicted to the film's "laid-back vibe". Billy 5000 lives with a sense of anxiety about the future while getting by in a harsh modern society. Boys leading dead-end lives in a small American town. Human relationships that are hollow and disconnected despite involving other people. An inexpressible loneliness and anxiety. An urge to be somewhere else... Set to lo-fi music numbers, the film candidly portrays the excitement, anguish, and growth unique to teenagers. The bonus footage is planned to include the Japanese theatrical trailer (subject to change).
