WHITE HEAT

[Machine Translation] A raid blasts off into the roadless road that pierces through the darkness and sweeps across the dusty wilderness! The Ford Custom 500, turned into a vengeful grudge, now roars off on a death jump! A violent spectacle that has become one of Burt Reynolds' masterpieces! Now on Blu-ray for the first time in Japan! Set in the southern U.S. state of Arkansas, a man whose brother was murdered vows revenge against a moonshine ring in this violent action film. Director Joseph Sargent (Operation Blow Up the Earth, Subway Panic), a craftsman of sharp action and suspense, and Hal Needham (who would later direct such blockbusters as Transom 7000 and Cannonball) as his assistants, create a powerful car action film that would be right at home in Britt. It was one of the first films set in the dark underbelly of the American South, and it was also one of the first films by Burt Reynolds, who became the number one money-making star in the late 1970s and 1980s for five years in a row. Reynolds made his directorial debut in 1976 with "Gator," a sequel to this film. Steven Spielberg was originally preparing this film as his first directorial effort, but he left the studio midway through the project. /Carjacking" ('74), his directorial debut. --One day, while in prison, Gator McCluskey learns that two boys have been drowned, one of them his younger brother. In a fit of revenge, McCluskey agrees to cooperate with the Treasury Department to destroy a moonshine ring, and is released from prison to track down the man responsible for his brother's death.
