Bridge The Gap

i just got this yesterday and i have listened to this twice now, as i have been a michael schenker fan for 35 years i still feel the best MSG line ups took place between 1980 and 1984, that does NOT mean i dont feel michael has put out some awesome records between almost 30 years ago and today, michael put out some great albums in the 90s and on into this century, i had huge huge high hopes for this record as we have the old classic SCORPIONS RYTHEM SECTION HERE and doogie white on vocals who is great!!!!!, actually the guitar playing is great and i strongly feel any fan of michael schenkers will enjoy this record but sadly it does not go to far beyond ENJOY unlike the last time michael worked with this rythem section almost 35 years ago I DID NOT ENJOY LOVE DRIVE IT BLEW MY MIND!!!!!!! the problem with this record is even though the songwriting is very good and the guitar playing very good there are to many elements of MODERN PRODUCTION that drown out the great guitar playing as well as the drums and also can distort doogies vocals THAT IS THE PROBLEM HERE NOT THE MUSIC THE PRODUCTION, it gives me NO PLEASURE AT ALL TO GIVE THIS 3 STARS!!!!!!!! MICHAEL HAS BEEN A HERO OF MINE SINCE CHILDHOOD and so have the scorpions from 1972 though 1984 ( as well as the face the heat album in 1993 and the unbreakable album in 2004) i really was very very excited about this cd becouse of the line up but they let the production go a bit to array here with digital compressed modern production and that is the only problem, i find that sad considering michael, herman and francis have been making great music for over 40 years now, i dont know why some legands let this happen SAXON, UFO AND MOTORHEAD DONT, but i am still glad to own this cd as i have every record MSG and UFO as well as THE SCORPIONS EVER PUT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! still schenker fans will enjoy this, great mastering like only the japanese can do..........
