Beethoven Symphonies Nos.1 & 6 [UHQCD]

[Machine Translation] Celebrating the 110th anniversary of Takashi Asahina's (1908-2001) birth and honoring his great achievement, "Beethoven Symphonies" with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra features Beethoven's symphonies, which have been the core of Asahina's repertoire for over 60 years. The complete Beethoven symphonies have been performed more than ten times, and this CD recording (a cycle) made from 1997 to 1998 is the eighth recording of the complete Beethoven symphonies. With the appearance of several new original editions and the use of period instruments, Beethoven performances in recent years have entered a new era. However, even to the ears of those who have lived through the "modern era," Asahina's performance does not fade away, but rather sounds very fresh. It is the furthest thing from frivolous, step-like music. The performance, in which the intense energy inherent in Beethoven's music is engraved in every note, is truly a sound of eternity.
