the ORIGINAL BRUSSELS AFFAIR 1973 [FM Broadcast 1974]

An alternate broadcast version of the Stones' 1973 Belgian show, the most famous in their live history! A 1974 FM radio broadcast recording centered on Brussels (the 1st Show on October 17)! The 1973 European tour is popular as the peak of the Stones' second period. On stage, the band unfolds the glittering, seductive rock and roll it reached on its new album "Goats Head Soup". Keith's loose rhythm cutting on his five-string guitar is razor-sharp. Mick Taylor's flowing phrases intertwine with the rhythm of Charlie and Bill, creating the unique 1973 sound. The funkiness of keyboardist Billy Preston spurs the band on, and you can picture the stage with the bewitching Mick Jagger stepping along. The performances that Stones connoisseurs love most are those of the 1973 European tour. Among them, the one considered the finest is the October 17 show in Brussels, Belgium (afternoon and evening shows). From that show, with its frighteningly inspired performance, bootlegs such as "Nasty Music" and "Europe '73" were born, and fans who heard the performance are possessed by its magic forever... That is how enormously popular the show was. In the archive that the Stones began to release in 2011, the Brussels show was also unveiled for the first time as "Brussels Affair", for digital distribution only. However! That recording centered on the "evening performance" of October 17 and had guitar solos and other parts dubbed in from other shows. This release is the version broadcast on the US FM program "King Biscuit Flower Hour" (1974), centered on the particularly highly acclaimed "afternoon performance" of that legendary Brussels show. As befits the most popular music program in the US, it was reportedly broadcast not only in FM stereo but also in four-channel, and with each instrument firmly mixed down, the sound quality is top-class. The true legendary show, which stands apart from the official "Brussels Affair" with its dubbing edits, is finally unveiled! Includes detailed Japanese liner notes covering the circumstances and episodes of the time, the track list, and more.
