Description

Mark Wahlberg ("Planet of the Apes," "Boogie Nights") stars as a former office machine repairman who is also the vocalist of a tribute band who becomes the actual lead singer of the band he idolizes. The screenplay (written by actor/writer John Stockwell) was inspired by the story of Tim ''Ripper'' Owens, the office supply salesman who actualy replaced the Judas Priest vocalist, Rob Halford. Jennifer Aniston co-stars as his girlfriend, and Jason Flemyng ("Lock, Stock...," "Snatch") is the original singer replaced by Wahlberg. Also starring are many real-life rockers, including drummer Jason Bonham (the son of the late legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham), Jeff Pilson (the Dokken bassist), and guitarist Zakk Wylde, among others. Some hard-rock classics (Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Kiss) are used in the soundtrack. Special features include: "Rock Star" by Everclear, and audio commentary from director Stephen Herek.
