Negatively Selected

[Machine Translation] Negative Selection, where most members are active immunologists. The members are researchers at the top of their fields in Japan, including the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, and RIKEN. Themes are based on deep insights into human existence, with a focus on immunology, and are performed in the style of progressive rock, which has influenced the members. The group's activities go far beyond the framework of a sideshow at academic conferences, and have been featured on such programs as NHK's "Gatten! and other programs. Their first album, "Negatively Selected," was released in 2016. Included in the album are "Lymph Bits Traveling Alone" and "Happy DeePee," both written by then-Professor Yosuke Takahama of Tokushima University on bass guitar and composed by Professor Hiroshi Kawamoto of Kyoto University on guitar. The humorous lyrics by Prof. Takahama and the progressive rock flavor by Prof. Kawamoto combine to create a unique world. Openings" and "At the End of Summer," both written by Professor Toshio Kitamura of Tokyo University, are pop songs that ease the tension between the two. They serve as a kind of camphor. <profile>Most of the members of Negative Selection are active immunologists.
