郵政民営化に伴い立ち上がった日本郵政グループのレーベル「JP MUSIC」。その第2弾は、50歳以上のシニア層に向けた手紙をテーマとしたコンピレーションアルバム。制作にあたっては、シニアマーケットのコンサルティング会社が保有する50歳以上の会員(30万人)から手紙にまつわる好きな曲を実際にアンケート調査し、その結果を元に選曲を実施。現代のシニア世代の生の声を元に生まれた、まさにシニア世代の今聴きたい楽曲を詰め込んだ作品となっている。また、「木綿のハンカチーフ/太田裕美」や「我が良き友よ/吉田拓郎とLOVE2 ALL STARS」など、旬のアーティストがカバーしたりTV番組などでも頻繁に取り上げられている有名曲も多く、若者層に馴染み深い楽曲も多数収録されている。アートワークにも郵政ならではの工夫を凝らし、パッケージに切手を貼りポストに投函すればそのまま郵送できるデザインと、メッセージを書き込むためのミニ便箋を3枚封入、それらデザインに使用されているイラストは日本郵便の切手デザイナーが画き下ろすというこだわりようで、手紙やギフトを贈る感覚で大切な人にプレゼントするグッズとしても最適な商品だといえる。
