Takashi Yoshimatsu: Sym, 6, Marimba Concerto

[Machine Translation] The most popular composer of the day, Takashi Yoshimatsu, whose name has become widely known through the music for the NHK historical drama "Taira no Kiyomori," has finally released his first new symphonic work in 12 years on CD. This is a live recording of a concert by Izumi Sinfonietta Osaka, which commissioned Yoshimatsu to compose the piece. The subtitle, "Birds" and "Angels" are both important themes that support Yoshimatsu's compositions. It is a symphony of "Tpy (toy)" with a chamber orchestra that flies like a bird and smiles like an angel in a "Pastoral (countryside)" style, but its performance requires an extremely high level of ensemble precision and technique. The Izumi Sinfonietta Osaka, with its highly selected virtuoso musicians, and the superb baton of Norichika Iimori, the orchestra's permanent conductor, have successfully transformed this exquisite score into sound. The fill-up includes a live recording for the record of a subscription concert by the Yamagata Symphony Orchestra, for which Iimori serves as music director, of the marimba concerto performed by Nanae Mimura. The title "Bird Rhythmics" means "the rhythmic method of birds. This long-awaited album couples Takashi Yoshimatsu's latest orchestral works.
