[Machine Translation] Steven Wilkinson (aka Bibio) and Oliver Johnson (aka Dorian Concept) have released their first collaborative album, *Answers*, on <Warp Records>! Since first meeting in 2009, the two have spent over 15 years building a creative relationship through live performances, shared interests, and a continuous exchange of music and ideas. On this album, their ongoing dialogue has culminated in a fully collaborative work. At its core lies the concept of looking back to move forward." Based in Vienna, Wolverhampton, and the Welsh countryside, the two exchanged songs, videos, and ideas via email, WhatsApp, and shared folders. They developed the music through an intuitive process of listening, altering, and responding each reacting to what the other sent. The catalyst for this collaboration was Wilkinson watching Dorian Concept s 2022 video work, Let It All Go." This led Wilkinson to propose a collaboration on an audiovisual project to Johnson, and from there, as VIVIO, he contributed guitar to Dorian Concept s 2025 work, *Miniatures*. This creative process also extended to the visual works that accompany the album. Wilkinson and Johnson co-produced five video works. Making full use of analog and early digital video cameras, VHS-C, MiniDV, VJ equipment, video mixers, and modified analog video equipment, they actively incorporated the glitches, imperfections, unexpected visual distortions, and artifacts produced by aging equipment. Footage shot in their immediate surroundings served as source material for processing and layering, transforming natural landscapes and casual moments of daily life into new forms of visual expression through both analog and digital processes. ビビオことスティーヴン・ウィルキンソンとドリアン・コンセプトことオリヴァー・ジョンソンが、初のコラボレーション・アルバム『Answers』を＜Warp Records＞よりリリース! 2009年に初めて出会って以来、15年以上にわたり、ライブや共通の興味、そして音楽やアイデアの継続的な交換を通じてクリエイティブな関係を築いてきた二人。本作では、これまで続いてきた対話が、完全なコラボレーション作品として結実している。その根底にあるのは、「前に進むために過去を振り返る」という発想である。ウィーン、ウルヴァーハンプトン、そしてウェールズの田園地帯を拠点に、二人はメールやWhatsApp、共有フォルダを介して楽曲や映像、アイデアを交換。相手から送られてきたものに対して、それぞれが反応を返すという方法で、聴き、変化させ、応答するという直感的なプロセスを通して音楽を発展させていった。このコラボレーションのきっかけとなったのは、ウィルキンソンがドリアン・コンセプトによる2022年の映像作品「Let It All Go」を観たことだった。これを機にウィルキンソンからジョンソンへオーディオ・ビジュアル作品での共同制作を持ちかけ、そこから、ビビオとしてドリアン・コンセプトの2025年作品『Miniatures』にギターで参加している。この制作プロセスは、アルバムを彩るビジュアル作品にも展開した。ウィルキンソンとジョンソンは、5本の映像作品を共同制作。アナログおよび初期デジタルのビデオカメラ、VHS-C、MiniDV、VJ機材、ビデオ・ミキサー、さらに改造を施したアナログ・ビデオ機器などを駆使し、経年した機材が生み出すグリッチや不完全さ、予期せぬ映像の乱れやアーティファクトを積極的に取り入れた。二人の身の回りで撮影された映像は、加工やレイヤーを重ねるための素材となり、自然の風景や日常の何気ない瞬間が、アナログとデジタル双方のプロセスを通じて、新たな映像表現へと姿を変えている。解説/ブックレット付。※国内盤CDと輸入盤CD・LPでトラックリストが異なりますのでご注意ください。※本商品は金曜販売開始/世界同時発売開始商品のため、商品のお届けは発売日当日以降になります。
